In 2012 I was laid off from my "just above broke" minimum wage job. I could have been upset and let my life go off the rails. Instead, I had a vision for my life that was greater than my present circumstances. I knew that in a matter of time, I would be living the life that I desired. Today I look back and laugh that those circumstances thought they could ever hold me down.
Make sure your vision is greater than where you are currently.
This is the starting point for speaking your best life into existence. If your vision only includes what you have now, then it's not big enough. You are capable of so much more than you can even imagine. When you set your sights higher, you open yourself up to limitless possibilities. Where you are currently is not where you need to be.
Whatever your dream is, keep going for it.
No matter what your dream is, you can achieve it. It might not be easy, but nothing worth having ever is. If you keep working towards your goals, you will eventually reach them. The only thing separating you from your goals is time. Believe that. If you don't have faith in yourself, you might as well quit now.
This is probably the most important thing to remember. You are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. It might take time, but eventually you will get there. Just keep believing in yourself and don't give up on your dreams.
Reframe the obstacles as stepping stones
But what about the obstacles? Don't look at what is before you as obstacles. They are only obstacles if you think of them as obstacles. If you see them as stepping stones then they become something entirely different. They are simply part of the journey that will lead you to your ultimate goal.
When you have a vision for your life and you see the obstacles in front of you as stepping stones, there is nothing that can hold you back. You are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to.
Back in 2012, as I was facing not being drafted into the NFL and losing my job, I could easily have gotten stuck in bitterness and frustration. But none of that fazed me because I knew I didn't need any of it. I was still at the helm of my life and continued to hold on to my vision. I vowed that in just a matter of time I would no longer work for wages, but set my own wages as a business owner. Now I own multiple brands. I vowed I would live healthy and free. Now I am a model, actor, and fitness icon. Nothing could hold me back from my greatness but me.
When you have a vision for your life, it's only a matter of time until it becomes a reality. Just keep speaking it into existence and don't let anyone or anything hold you back. You are capable of greatness. Go out there and achieve it.
