The most challenging thing for a person to do is to take the first step in their own personal journey.
That journey can be a path to enlightenment, self-improvement, the pursuit of happiness, success, personal glory, the list goes on and on. But, we can all agree that the journey is essentially a consistent progression towards a worthy idea, an idea worth working hard for. Life is that journey once you start it. It's a constant evolution, evolving and changing to be better for the better. Like the cliche saying goes, the first step is always the hardest.
I started NBM, No Beast Mode, in 2013.
To be frank, I had no idea what I was doing. But the fact that I was actually doing it was the most important detail. Everyone gets so caught up with overthinking on what they want to do, planning every single little minute detail. Don't get me wrong, it's great to plan, in fact, it's a damn requirement. But don't so caught up with it that you never start the actual journey itself. Just get started on your idea and journey. Don't overthink and complicate things. It's all a ladder process, go up each step or rung consistently and at your own speed, you'll eventually learn it all while also getting to live the experience. You just need to start it.
It wasn't quick.
Getting the brand off the ground, much like any other idea, lifestyle, or mentality, is not a 9-month or overnight thing. It's a consistent process that will span over long periods of time. Anything worth having or working for will take time. That process will include failures. Failing is an invaluable chance to learn and grow from. You can't improve and learn without failing, so fail as fast as you can. The sooner you fail, the sooner you learn. That's what I exactly did with NBM and all my other brands.
Success has many different definitions.
My definition of success is a constant progression and maximum effort towards a worthy idea. I live by that mindset and NBM was founded on that principle. The no beast mode mindset is a mindset that forces you to invest in yourself, believe in yourself, and to be all-in all the time. Be a beast in everything you do all the time and don't turn off that mindset. Success will quickly follow, just rinse and repeat.
